Growing up in Geelong, Victoria - Joel's emerging talent in High Jump as a young athlete promised a career he little could have imagined.From following in the footsteps of his brother, to forming an uncertain but exciting vision of competing at the 2016 Olympic Games throughout school, these small seemingly insignificant moments catalyzed into that reality.Under the guidance of his longstanding coach, Sandro Bisetto, Joel has since had the opportunity to represent Australia at multiple World Championships, Commonwealth, and two Olympic Games - spanning a 10 year career in the sport.
